Today you looked at civil rights groups that are not very well known. Think about the notes you took and answer the following question:
Why might these people not be as famous as other civil rights groups? Defend your answer clearly.

Some of the these other groups are not as famous as the others because the others problems were not so important as segregation or racism. The other groups there problems was getting better jobs conditions, life insurance, abortion, and the right to have gay marriage.
ReplyDeleteThe Gay Civil Rights groups aren't that important because they didn't make the news about gay people getting beat up. Another reason could be just because you were gay didn't mean your house got blown up. The reason why the race issue was more famous was because you seen people getting beat up and attacked by cops , and there friends and family's were lynched.
ReplyDeleteThey might not be as important because there wasn't really anything big or help the world important. They traveled around the world around the world helping a little bit but it was nothing like saving lives, stopping slavery, or a good smart well thought out war strategy that may go down in history.
ReplyDeleteIf teachers would talk about other groups these then they would of been more well known. So if the teachers would talk about this to their students instead of those groups who are well known like Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. They are important but there are more groups. That is why they are not that important.
ReplyDeleteI think these other civil rights were not as important because they only affect certain people like with Martin Luther King it affect everyone blacks in whites with the gay civil rights it only affects gay people and with farmers it only affects farmers Im not that much of a fan of grapes so if they were not here I would not care I would miss the taste but what Im trying to say is that segregation affected everyone blacks and whites getting along and people were to caught up with balack and whites forgot about everything else
ReplyDeleteThe Native Americans, the farm workers, the Gay people, and the women from the year 1920, are not as famous as the civil rights groups. Why I don’t know why…but I do have a theory. In the olden days maybe there haven’t had as much experience as the early years did. Back then probably weren’t TV’s, there were radios. Then in the earlier days when the new editions came out it was more of a thing were all the information would be recorded, then broadcast from all over. I really don’t think there is a reason why those people weren’t really recognized like the Civil Rights groups.

ReplyDeleteTo tell the truth I really have no clue why these people didn't blow up like the others did. I have some reason why they might of didn't get famous much. Theses people mostly likely didn't get as famous because they didn't fight as hard of they others fought. Or maybe its the simple fact that nobody cared about what they wanted to fight for. It could also be because, they gave up when they saw nobody cared about what was happening in out generation. Maybe what they fought for wasn't to much of an importance to the people. Those are my reasons for these groups not getting as famous as the others.
These people might not be as famous as other civil rights leaders because those particular issues were appropriate for that period in time. However the other people who were mentioned more in civil rights were thought to be ahead of there time with the issue they were dealing with at hand. It also could be because all the more difficult things were going on n history. So most of these events and people only made the sidelines. Most likely thats why some groups weren't as famous as others.

They also could of been worried about different things that was happening at that time. Also they were not heard of when it was happening. That means that their voice was small and not big.

Like the other ones they had to go up against is slavery, which is a lot more important, then the woman rights because the woman rights affected the woman only. But slavery affected every black person in America. The Native must have been big but it only affected only them but no one else. The same with the farm act and the gay rights act.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they weren't as famous as the other groups but in time as the issues get more and more "out there" people will use their success as motivation in the future. They will look back into the past and see what the did accomplish and maybe want to follow in there foot steps. They might not be as famous as Rosa Parks or Dr. Martin Luther King but they might come into the as the issues proceed to get more and more intense.
ReplyDeleteThis group is not that famous than the other civil rights movement because. The other groups like Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X made a speech to the world saying how they were going to stop the things that were going on. For example the Segregation because remember how the schools, hospital, and water fountains were segregated as well. And that group was tired to see how everyone could not go see the other people that were around like a new neighbor had just moved in and if that family was colored than they were not able to talk to the other people around the neighbor hood that was white. The other people were not important because the only thing that they had done was just trying to defend them and their family working and trying to stay inside the house that they are living it and having some one else live in their when you were the one who rented the place. The last thing is that they were not important as the other ones because they did not get up and give a speech to the people to try to help the world or the community they just saved them selves.

The reason those people might be not be famous in other famous Civil Rights Movement is because they might not be really important to other people or other Rights. Like Rosa Parks Bus. That's important because she was the first black American lady to boycott for a white's person seat.
ReplyDeleteThese people are not as famous as other civil rights groups because they didn't really make a big Variations in other people life like MLK did he really made a really big variation by defending what was right and what was wrong at the time. He was one of the biggest main part of the civil rights movement. But for Cesar Chavez is not really known very well because he organized farm workers into the Union and thats really nothing. But there were just not known at all because they didn't believe on what they were doing as other Civil rights people did.
ReplyDeleteThey might not be known because these things really dint make a diffrence in our community Like they werent involved in slavery or none of those things. But still in some cities/ countries its illegal to do some of the things that where included in the groups. They arent important because this is something you chose to be or not Or chose do or not. Thats probably why is not that famous. But u see if it was talking about effecting our community and avoding us from having other rights it will be famous just like the Civil rights.

Also they didn't fight as hard as the others did, and they didn't put there best in what they was doing, so maybe thats why they didn't become or came as famous, and how certain people came up with the ideas. The other civil rights groups are very important that it's been talked about every where and a lot of people know about it. They even fought hard to put there information out there.

They are not famous because they are not the people who really ended it. Martin Luther King Jr was the one who ended all the hate between the other races He devoted his life to end all the hate and thats why he is as famous unlike the other civil rights groups.

Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks were big civil rights fighters because of the famous speech that had been said and the move that had been made. There had been many more groups that had been part of the civil rights movement. Civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King and Malcolm X are highlighted as the main civil rights leaders, so not that many people know about other groups that had contributed. These groups are not put out there and talked about as much as the other main civil rights leaders so not that many people know about them.

These people might not be as famous as other civil rights groups because people may not know what they had done in the civil rights movement. These people made the biggest change.
ReplyDeleteThe other civil rights group are not famous because people didn't care about those problem. The people who boycotted grapes just brought something else at the market. The ladies that didn't get to vote didn't make a big enough deal about it. The native americans didn't make a big deal either. The gay people that wanted to get married did make a big deal. America just doesn't want the new generation to learn about things they thought was wrong. America just doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteThe Womens Movement, The Native American Movement, Farm workers Movement, and the Gay Rights movement are not well known because martyrs like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were more popular. The were more popular because they were apart of Segregation which was a more popular than any other movement.
