All Americans are not treated equally. Weather its the color of your skin , your sexuality , the way you dress not everyone it treated equally. That is highly unfair. The civil rights movement at times failed. It failed when people started in the beginning. After time the civil rights movement started to start working.
ReplyDeleteI know that my hero's life that he is the first black baseball player. He was born in January,31 1919.Also I believe that all America are equal.
ReplyDeleteUsing what you know about the civil rights era and your hero's life answer the following question.
ReplyDeleteAre all Americans treated equally?
If you answer yes, did the civil rights movement help with that? Explain.
yes all Americans are treated equally now rather than back in the days. but some white people are still rude to black people.
Are all Americans equal no I don’t believe that they are because some of them did what they believed in. some went to jail trying to change peoples life. Martin Luther king was a martyr he had a speech that he wanted every one to get along blacks and whites no matter what race they all had to get along. I think they weren’t equal because some did what they can. the civil rights failed because it did not reach out to every body but it started working after all
ReplyDeleteNo all Americans were not treated equally. The civil rights movement did not work effectively. Most men still think that women should still be just be housewife. There are still racism in the world. They should have took an different approach for there movement.
ReplyDeleteAll Americans are treated equally. Women are able to vote because of Jeannette Rankin, the first woman in congress. Homosexual people are able to marry one another because of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay politician. Schools are now integrated because of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court judge. He was the judge in the Brown vs. board of education case. Sports are integrated because of Roberto Clemente, the first Hispanic baseball player, and Jackie Robinson, the first African-American baseball player. Buses are integrated because of Rosa Parks. Farm workers get treated equally because of Ceasar Chavez and Dolores Huerta. Many more civil rights leaders help this society. The civil rights movement helped a lot. If the leaders didn’t stand up, the way they did the world wouldn’t be the same as it is today. If the militant group, the Black Panther Party, didn’t stand up for equal rights, African-American and Hispanic people still would have been treated wrong. I’m glad that the civil rights leaders stood up for equally rights.
ReplyDeleteSome people are still not treated equally because there is some racism between blacks and between whites. Some whites are treated better then some blacks and some blacks are treated better then whites. The civil right movement didn’t fail it just fail by not changing everyone’s mind about blacks and about whites. For example when then 9 black kids were going into Central high School. There were whites lining up all over the sidewalks and then were yelling.
ReplyDeleteAll Americans are not treated equally because of what happen back in the time. Some people where treated right because of their skin color and some were not because of whom they were. The civil rights movement did not help Americans because all they did was fight for what they believe, what I know is that the civil right helped sorts of people and did not help others, there is still people who needs more help.
ReplyDeleteAll Americans are treated equally. The civil rights movement helped all Americans be treated equally. One way the civil rights movement helped all Americans be treated equally is when African Americans protested against segregation. That helped all Americans to be treated equally because they kept protesting until they were heard and they kept protesting until something was done about segregation. Another way the civil rights movement helped all Americans be treated equally is when Africans Americans boycotted and marched all around America. That is how the civil rights movement helped all Americans be treated equally.
ReplyDeleteEqual because there are Americans who feel Indignant about their earnings ad how they're treated by the government. It's not that the civil rights failed but they did make a big change but everyone is not yet equal.
ReplyDeleteThere were many ways that people helped fight segregation like marching so they could be heard and seen or just boycotting things to make a change.
The civil rights movement was basically a fight but not exactly it was more like an argument to better the lives of those who felt they weren’t treated equally.
The elements for a research paper that I use were index card with information to help me with what I was going to plot in my paper. In addition I used quotes, facts, and thesis.
yes great amount of people feel that there equal i don't know for shore how many people are non equal in America based on there color of someones
ReplyDeleteskin. back in the 1950's and the 1960's the legendary technique they used were chanting going on strike or the most famous stratigraphy of all time. have one of the civil rights leaders speak there minds about how they feel about segregation because they were tired of having to sepret class room sepret water fountens they were treated like different life forms from another planet
no the Americans treated equally was unfair because the was being recess.
ReplyDeleteI think no, not every American is treated equally. For example if a really rich and famous person comited murder, and a pore averige jo also comited murder I highly dout that both of them would get the same punishment, maby thay would get the same punishment but they would not get it for the same amout of time or in the same way as each other.
ReplyDeleteYes. All Americans are treated equally. I say yes because Before during the Civil Rights Movement Whites and Colored people weren't able to do the same things. The colored had to use different water fountains, different Bathrooms and some more. But now that Segregation is over all Americans are equally all in the same way.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't true that all Americans a treated equally because they are all treated differently. For example there are still people who refuse to follow the rules a remain being a racist.so i believe it failed when people decided to ignore the rules and decided to do as they please
ReplyDeleteNo, because it failed for many reasons. The outcome was segregation. Segregation was when whites and blacks were separated because of their color. For example restaurants signs and cafes said either “Whites only ”or “Blacks only”. They ate in different places because of race. It was for other reasons as well. It went so wrong. It is right now that it has worked, but it was not then. Now it is how the people planned it to be like then. It failed.
ReplyDeleteNo not all Americans was treated equally because some of the whites and the blacks had different things to go through like the community had changed the respect that each of them had for each other left and no one cares about any body else in the area. The other reason why there was not equal was because everywhere the whites and blacks had gone somewhere the place that they was going to was still segregated. For example the water fountains, bathrooms, the street phones, restaurants, and even the hospitals was segregated as well. So the doctors inside of the hospital was not able to let any blacks or the other hospital did not allow the whites to get in the building no matter what the problem that that person had they would not even care if you were about to die right in front of the hospital.
ReplyDeleteYes Americans are treated equally& No Americans are not treated equally. The civil rights movement was helpful but it took so long for people just to sit and talk with each other. Just to boycott riding the buses to sit were they want. I do agree with Brianna Eason NOW the African American people are being treated as if we were here from the very beginning. We are equal now in some ways. In the time of Civil Rights they didn’t fail they just didn’t know what the future was going to bring. I see more blacks & Hispanics going to jail for either selling drugs or being an immigrant.
ReplyDeleteAmericans were not treated equal during the Civil Rights Movement. Now everyone is treated the same. The Civil Rights Movement helped the Americans get equal rights because when Homer V. Plessy was in court he brought the 14th amendment up and said why are we not treated the same as the whites if the 13th amendments said everyone has equal rights. Then During the Civil Rights movement many people came together and started to fight for equality now everybody has equal rights the Civil Rights Movement helped give equal rights to all Americans.
ReplyDeleteResponse: In a way everyone is treated equally, but then again everyone is not. It is different everywhere in the world, in some places everyone is as fairly treated as the next.In other places they may not be. Here in the united states, however,we see the equality level vary.Certain standards in society are set solely for one race to reach and for them to remain dominant in the world. As, back in the early days when black and hispanic people were finally getting the same treatments as whites they always knew there place, and were always considered the underdogs of society. It is not really until this century that everything is balancing out, we finally have a black president. This means that people are considering fairness and making a change in the way they see people. Who knows, maybe in the future we will have a lot more Spanish and black people running for president so that they can make history and truly demonstrate the equality among everyone!
ReplyDeleteMost Americans are treated equal now. Most people are because of what other people did back in the days to help. For example Harvey Milk help the gay community. Also Betty Friedan helped woman get equal rights. They helped the people get treated equally. Also some people are not treated equal. Some people are not treated equal because they don't agree with what people in the civil rights movement. Some people still don't agree that gays should get married and some people still don't think woman should do the same rights as men.
ReplyDeleteAmericans are treated fairly in some places. I wouldn't say that the Civil Rights Movement failed , but that it only helped us have the freedom we have today. In the south there is minor racism some whites still feel blacks are despicable. The Civil Rights Movement helped us be able to depend on the justice system with out being look upon for out race. Though in some parts of society people have different opinions doesn't mean we should believe that The Civil Rights Movement failed.
ReplyDeleteI think that people are not always treated equally and till this day there is still. Racism because no one can stop the way they feel towards another person.I don't think that anything failed in the civil rights movement i just think that some peoples feelings just wont change.
ReplyDeleteAll Americans are not treated equally because some of us are treated well than others. Some are just not fairly treated. Black people get bad service and are being attacked because of their ethnicity and where they come from.Black people where treated bad and were not served well as the white people did but because of their skin color they don't get what they want because of whom they were. The civil rights movement did not help Americans at all because all they did was fight for what they believe but they did not fight for there rights or for there ability to do new things. But some people when to jail trying to fight other peoples battle like Martin Luther King Jr. he gave a lot of speeches throw out his life but nothing really changed against Black and White people. At the same time I think that It just didn't fail it was the people that believed what they wanted to believe in so Its kinda in between.
ReplyDeleteAmericans are treated fairly in some places. I wouldn't say that the Civil Rights Movement failed , but that it only helped us have the freedom we have today. In the south there is minor racism some whites still feel blacks are despicable. The Civil Rights Movement helped us be able to depend on the justice system with out being looked upon for our race. ReplyDeleteAll American are not treated equally now and during the civil right movement. Back then they had two of everything. Like two bathrooms one that said colored and one that said white. But now there are a lot of people who do get treated equally but there are still some people who do not like people without the same color as their own skin color.
ReplyDeleteThe civil rights movement failed at the start of it. I think it failed because some of the people might have been scared. Because they saw a bunch of people standing for there rights and those people who stood up for there rights got hurt badly.
All Americans are not treated equally, Whether its the color of someones skins to the clothes that they wear on there backs, all Americans are not treated equally. African Americans and Americans share water fountains and can sit in the same restaurant's during this era. During the Civil Rights Movement everything had been "Separate But Equal." During this era some places still follow the "Separate But Equal" law. The Civil Rights Movement had failed when parties started by African Americans had decided to retaliate against the Americans and protect the black communities. The Civil Rights Movement had failed when it had began, but Africa America's had put a large number of effort into making everything equal. They had succeeded and are still fighting for more rights in today's era.
ReplyDeleteAs my opinion no ones ever going to be treated equally. This as equal as its going to get. When I say that this is as equal as its going to get I mean that, we've made progress things are changing but things could be better. Schools are intergraded but people still complain. Blacks and whites walk the same streets and still problems occur. Gay people get to show there homosexuality, and there still not excepted as who and what they are. Women get pregnant have abortions and they are still criticized for their actions. People try to stand up for what they believe in, and still get shot down because no one wants to hear what the have to say. Obama is are first black president, he trying to make a difference and still people complain about our nation and what changes aren't being changed. Being equal is something that only time will tell.-Natae` Tyler
ReplyDeleteAmericans today are treated equal now. Back in the day during segregation times blacks as a whole were not treated as equals. In the civil rights era blacks couldn’t do what whites could for example if a white man was to pass the speeding rate there would be a possible chance that he would not get arrested, but if it were a black man it would be a whole different story. The was set out to be separate but equal but everyone knew that it wasn’t equal or fair even when blacks tried to defend themselves they would be nearly beaten to death. Everything was separate including bathrooms, water fountains, even food courts, and buses people of color had to sit in the back of the bus and if there a white man or women needed a seat they were forced to give it up. When Dr. Martin Luther King made his speech about how the people of color should get tossed in jail purposely that is when they started fighting back and actually enjoying it. Blacks fought their way out to the end and won they got the respect, liberty and equality they deserved. Put the past be hind and keep looking into the future.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is equal because people are not always treated fairly.People still discriminate against of different sexuality for example gay people are sometimes treated unfairly because of who they are. Everyone is human just because we all have are likes and dislikes.
ReplyDeleteYes all Americans are treated equally and at the same time there not because before buses, stores, water fountains etc. Were all segregated but now its different we can sit were we want we can drink out of any fountains and we can go to any store we want. and its unfair because the white and black people hate each other sometimes because there is still racism in the world.
